Tane (pronounced Ta-neh) of Basque decent, is a Mexican-Canadian-Italian multidisciplinary artist based in Oakville, Ontario. She has lived in Canada, Mexico, The US, Australia, Italy and Argentina. Her husband is Australian-Italian.
Tane grew up surrounded by many forms of art thanks to her parents. She started producing and selling her own drawings, paintings and sculptures locally at the age of six. From around the same age, she started to gain recognition as a great storyteller at school and later at work, being awarded “Best Storyteller of the Year” in several yearly awards.
Even though it was her passion, she was highly discouraged by her father from pursuing an artistic career, motivating her to take the course of the corporate business world instead.
Never wanting to really deviate herself from a creativity focused path, she undertook a career in marketing and advertising, gaining experience in TV production, media content creation, and event coordination.
She has had a successful career in business, having worked as a leader for the top global consulting firm and earned an MBA from a top school, but has slowly started to shift her focus on dedicating her life to art.
